Plane carrying 20 people crashes near Tennessee airport, USA

A serious plane crash occurred on June 8 in Tennessee (USA). The crashed plane was a twin-engine propeller plane carrying 20 people and crashed near Tullahoma Airport.
Fortunately, no fatalities were recorded, although many passengers were injured, including one in critical condition.

According to information from the US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and the Tullahoma Police Department, the accident occurred at around 12:30 pm local time, not long after the plane took off from Tullahoma Airport – about 124 km southeast of Nashville.

The plane involved in the crash was a de Havilland Canada DHC-6 Twin Otter – a twin-engine aircraft commonly used for small passenger flights, especially for skydiving activities. Initial information from local police confirmed that there were parachutists on board.

Although the collision was assessed as serious, all 20 people on board survived, but 6 were hospitalized, including 1 in critical condition. Two were taken to hospital by helicopter, while 4 were transported by ambulance.Photos posted to social media by the Tennessee Highway Patrol show the plane badly damaged, with its nose stuck in the ground, a wing broken off, and the fuselage deformed from the impact. This has drawn attention to the fact that all passengers survived, a miracle due to the quick response and possibly the terrain conditions where the plane landed.

The FAA is currently investigating the cause of the accident in coordination with federal agencies, including checking flight schedules, weather conditions at the time of takeoff, the technical condition of the aircraft, and statements from the crew and passengers.

The Tullahoma Regional Airport is currently operating normally, but the area around the accident site has been cordoned off and blocked off to serve the investigation and collect evidence.
