Anti-ICE riots have spread across the United States, with protests erupting across the nation and within 35 cities.
President Donald Trump was criticised for not doing enough as anti-ICE protests swept the United States, in resistance to the brutal immigration raids, detention and removal of suspected undocumented migrants. With Los Angeles said to be the epicentre of unrest, demonstrations have erupted in 35 cities after a string of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) arrests on Friday (June 6).
Although the US leader deployed the National Guard and eventually the U.S. Marines on Monday (June 9), Fox News urged the President to take more action. Newsreader Jesse Watters slammed the protesters and stated: “That’s the problem here, they think they own the country, they don’t respect the laws and they don’t respect the law enforcement.” Addressing viewers, he added: “I actually think Trump should go harder, he needs to break the back of this ICE resistance and make sure everyone understands that this thing’s not going to slow down.
“You can’t be held hostage in your own country by foreigners because that’s what this is, it’s an extortion attempt. Every time we try to enforce the law, you’re going to burn stuff? That’s not how it works,” Jesse blasted.
He added: “They need to clean this up before the World Cup and before the Olympics because Trump wants to light the torch. He wants to be the one to hold the torch, and if there’s riots going on, it’s not going to look good because the eyes of the world are on us.”Following the initial protest in Los Angeles, dozens of others erupted in solidarity and against the Trump administration’s immigration crackdown.ith more cities braced for protests, people have already taken to the streets in New York City, Chicago, Denver, Atlanta and Austin. On Wednesday (June 11), the White House issued stark warnings to protesters and said that it would not hesitate to expand its deployment of National Guard troops and Marines to quell demonstrations beyond Los Angeles.
