Just moments ago, a staff member responsible for post-flood cleanup at Camp Mystic made a discovery that may shift the direction of the entire investigation into the last girl still missing.
While entering Cabin 12 — the girl’s assigned room — to begin clearing debris, the cleaner noticed something strange: a small wooden box placed neatly in the center of the girl’s bed. The bed had already been inspected during the initial days of the search, but the box hadn’t been there before.
Out of curiosity, she opened it.
Inside the box was a stack of folded papers, a child’s bracelet, and most hauntingly of all — a printed photograph of the missing girl and her entire family, tucked tightly under the lid.
🖼️ The photo appears to have been taken just weeks before the camp began, showing the smiling girl between her parents and younger brother — a photo that, according to the mother, had never left their home
This has raised chilling questions:
-
Who brought the photo there?
-
Why was the box placed back on the bed — after the cabin had already been cleared?
Authorities are now reviewing camera footage around the area, and forensic teams have collected the box and its contents for fingerprint and DNA analysis.
Police have not ruled out the possibility that someone returned to the cabin after the search operations ended — possibly as recently as 48 hours ago.
